Lou Caruso (Birdhouse Lou), a New Jersey native, moved to Maine over 10 years ago with his wife Lisa. After 40+ years of working on other people's houses he decided to scale back and build birdhouses, feeders, fairy houses and similar "small" projects.

Believing birds don't care about porches and rockers and other cute things, he chose more natural materials as his mediums. His structures are built primarily from tree limbs, trunks and roots. 90% of all the materials he uses is recycled, reclaimed or repurposed. His ultimate goal is for his creations to blend in with their natural surroundings.
